- Meet Eligibility Requirements: For California, individuals must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete an Accredited EMT Training Program: Enroll in and successfully complete an EMT training program - like MiraCosta College’s program.
- Complete Clinical Experience and Field Internship: Our EMT trai
- Meet Eligibility Requirements: For California, individuals must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete an Accredited EMT Training Program: Enroll in and successfully complete an EMT training program - like MiraCosta College’s program.
- Complete Clinical Experience and Field Internship: Our EMT training program requires completion of clinical experience and field internships, where you'll gain hands-on experience working with patients under the supervision of experienced EMS professionals. We will assist you with this field internship.
- State Certification: California EMTs must obtain state certification through the EMSA. This involves submitting an application, paying a fee, and meeting other state-specific requirements.
- Maintain Certification: EMTs are typically required to renew their certification every two years. This often involves completing continuing education credits and demonstrating competency through skills evaluations.
